Big Sean ended his engagement to Naya Rivera because he apparently couldn't take her controlling ways any longer.

The 26-year-old rapper made the announcement on Wednesday that he and the 27-year-old Glee star had cancelled their wedding, and the decision came after couples therapy failed to resolve their issues.

Naya and Big Sean announced their engagement in October after just six months of dating, but now the wedding is off.

The rapper's representative told Us Weekly that it was Sean's decision to end the engagement and denied recent reports in Star magazine that he cheated on her.

His rep said: "After careful thought and much consideration, Sean has made the difficult decision to call the wedding off."

Big Sean's rep said: "The recent rumours and accusations reported by so-called or fake sources are simply untrue."

While he didn't reveal the current status of their relationship, the rep alluded to some "issues" but added Sean, real name Sean Anderson, hoped to work them out.

The representative added that Sean wishes Naya nothing but the best and it is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately.

Andrew and Emma shine in London

All eyes were on actress Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield at the London premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Stone, who plays Gwen Stacy in the movie, stood out in a bright yellow gown that trailed onto the floor.

She posed on the arm of her boyfriend Andrew Garfield, who she met in 2011 on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man. He plays the lead role of Peter Parker and Emma's on-screen love interest.

Garfield, who looked slick in a dark suit, arrived at the premiere with some very special guests — a selection of children he met the day before from Brixton-based organisation Kids City. It's a charity providing out-of-school activities for children between the ages of three and11 and Andrew dressed as his alter ego to meet the delighted youngsters. The superstar seemed more than happy to stop and talk to his legions of fans who had waited for hours to catch a glimpse of him.

Andrew — a life long Spider-Man fan — is said to be signed on for one more instalment but it is not known if Gwen Stacy's fate will mirror that of her comic book character.

Kate dazzles in Jenny Packham gown

The Duchess of Cambridge looked resplendent in a bespoke black dress by her favourite British designer, Jenny Packham.

Kate joined Prince William at a lavish state reception thrown by Governor General Sir Jerry Mateparae, the Queen's representative in New Zealand, at his official residence, Government House.

As appropriate as ever, Kate had her dress hand-stitched with silver beading to represent New Zealand's national emblem.

Although Thursday night was not a 'tiara-worthy' occasion, the reception is still one of the glitziest engagements of their three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia and all eyes were on the dazzling Duchess
