If it's a must-do party event, chances are you'll bump into trendsetting fashionista Cortia Bingham, the can-do public relations and sponsorship manager at We Inspire Jamaica. Sporting blond tresses, an olive figure-hugging design by Tamia Francis of STUSH, and her neck adorned with a string of pearls, Bingham is making the scene at the Soiree party in Stony Hill. We excuse her from present company to sip champagne and talk being Cortia.

You're in the business of event planning, how's the state of business now in a down economy?

I am blessed beyond my imagination, because business is very lucrative. I find that though times are difficult, people still need an outlet to enjoy themselves and usually that's lyming at an event with friends over drinks and great music

If you could have your pick of any event to coordinate and execute, what would be your dream project?

That's a hard one. I think I'm living my dream now, but if I were to go really big, it would be planning an event for the international market like The Oscars.

What are the next major events we can look forward to see you planning in the coming months?

Wedding Spectacular, A Big Baby Shower, SPF Weekend, Soiree and Crystal Gayle in Concert.

How and where do you go to unwind?

I unwind when I travel and shop. My favourite place to do that would be Las Vegas.

What is the biggest life regret you've had?

My greatest regret is not meeting Nelson Mandela in person. It would have been such a great inspiration.

What do you consider your proudest accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment to date is my creation of a successful niche occupation, that is sponsorship management.

What is your idea of the perfect date?

Being whisked away on a plane or yacht to Prime 112 in South Beach.

What is your idea of the perfect man?

Someone who is debonair, honest, determined and selfless.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Expanding and establishing my profession in other places across Latin America and the Caribbean.
