Cocktails With Patricia Hue

Sunday, November 04, 2012

Patricia Hue is enjoying the company of her gal pals when we eye her across the ballroom of the Wyndham Kingston. We're at the 2012 Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum International Bartender Challenge and Hue is fashionably fabulous in a strapless coral mini-dress. Working with Carreras as a trade marketing representative for almost a year, the fetching beauty agrees to sit with us for cocktails and questions.

How did you find the Appleton International Bartender Challenge?

It was quite the experience. The event was a great way to showcase bartenders across the world and our great Jamaican rum. Let's say I can't remember the rest, after the third or fourth tasting.

Which bartender were you rooting for?

I voted for the Canadian Jonathan Homier. His sorrel mix was amazing!

What is your typical cocktail of choice?

A lychee martini.

What's in your clutch?

My car keys, Orbitz gum, L'Oréal lipgloss, my BlackBerry Bold, and my Appleton Estate Bartender Challenge voting coin.

Which four words best describe Patricia Hue?

Ambitious, goal-oriented, determined, and charismatic.

Jeans or a LBD?

I like both but I would have to say jeans. With jeans, you have the flexibility to dress it up or down.

Flats or stilettos?

Stilettos. It gives me the confidence. Why blend in when you can stand out?

What perfume are you spraying?

Gucci - The One.

What are your fashion essentials?

Nude pumps, hoop earrings, skinny jeans, a fedora and a pair of Ray-Ban glasses.

Who does your hair?

I do it most of the time but if it's a special occasion, I pay a visit to Carolyn Wongsam who operates from Northside Plaza.

Who does your nails?

Yanique 'Candy' Buchanan. Her technique is flawless.

What does your position as a trade marketing representative with Carreras require of you?

Essentially, I'm required to build brand awareness, retain product availability and visibility.

Is it ever a ticklish role for you working in the tobacco industry?

No. Like any other job, it has its challenges but I believe as adults we all have the freedom of choice.

Who inspires you?

My mother. She is such a strong, humble and generous woman; always being the greatest supporter she can be. I have such deep admiration for her.

Who do you believe function better in leadership roles, men or women?

Neither. I think it is highly dependent on the position itself and the personality traits of the individual and how well they match the post.

When do you feel the most relaxed?

Sunbathing on the beach.

What are you listening to on your iPod or car stereo?

A compilation of Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Konshens, BOB, John Legend, Adele and quite a bit more.

What's your idea of the perfect date?

A candlelight dinner overlooking the ocean.

What's your idea of the perfect man?

Someone who has core values, who is ambitious, hard-working, humourous, athletic; and did I mention, tall?

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

I see myself happily married with children and owning my own business.
