Ahead of jetting off across The Pond for go-sees for designers at London Fashion Week, leggy Pulse model Sedene Blake agrees to meet us for an afternoon drink at Studio 38 Bar. The doe-eyed beauty, who's made the cover of Italian Vogue Beauty, starred in print ad campaigns for Target, and shot fashion editorials for Harper's Bazaar, W, and Essence, has an endearing naivete and sweet charm that draws us in immediately. As we sip signature FNO Appleton cocktails, she catches us up to speed with her modelling life in the fast lane.

What are you drinking?

The Appleton FNO Lipstick on The Collar cocktail.

How would you define your personal style?

Casual and comfy. For casual, I go for Lacoste fitted tees and my favourite jeans, but I often add a nice pair of earrings to lift the look.

Which of the world's fashion capitals do you love most?

Kingston! This is where all the style is.

Who are your favourite designers?

Wow, there are so many. I think they're all talented. Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Nanette Lepore, Tory Burch, Peter Som and Jason Wu.

What are your three fashion must-haves?

My Tory Burch handbag, D&G sunglasses and lip gloss.

Jeans or an LBD?

I like both, but it all depends on the occasion. The LBD works for a nice evening date.

Flats or stilettos?

I love both. For my castings and go-sees my heels are a must, but since my style is casual I tend to wear a lot of flats. I live in my Tory Burch flats.

Who does your hair?

When I'm in Jamaica, my hairdresser Nicky up in Constant Spring or when I'm in New York, Simone on Jamaica Avenue.

Who does your nails?

In Jamaica, Tanya on Constant Spring Road and I do them myself sometime when I'm in New York. My schedule sometimes gets a bit hectic.

Who's your model icon and why?

It's difficult to say just one, but if I had to, I must say I really admire Naomi Campbell and Miranda Kerr.

What would be your dream modelling gig?

Signing a Victoria's Secret contract.

What last made you tear up?

Don't remember the last thing, but laughing really hard tears me up.

What's your greatest fear?

Crawling insects, especially ants, when I see the nest I feel like they're running all over me and if one bites me I'm paranoid for a good hour.

It's been said that models don't eat. What food do you most enjoy indulging in?

I go for sweet stuff like chocolate, ice cream and cookies.

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment to date as a model?

Well, the cover of Italian Vogue Beauty with Greg Lotus is high up there and doing about 40 shows for all the top designers in my first show season and oh, my H&M campaign.

What's your idea of the perfect date?

Let me think... hmm, a perfect date? Just as long as the guy doesn't scare you off the same night then it's fine. Going out for dinner and getting flowers, I suppose.

What's your idea of the perfect man?

A man who respects and loves you for who you are and not what you have; one that's got your back no matter what. He should care for you and understand you.

Who's your favourite Jamaican designer?

I like Julan and Drenna Luna.

What is your beauty regimen?

My routine is simple. I just wash my face and go; sometimes I put on a little moisturiser.

What is your favourite skin care product?

I love using Neutrogena facial scrubs. They're so good for your skin, well mine at least.

What are you listening to on your iPod or stereo?

Most of the songs from Rihanna and Wiz Khalifa. I love their music.

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

Doing some acting. That's what I'm looking at for my future, getting a good part in a movie. I also want to be in business.
