Style Observer

Sunday, December 11, 2011

We caught up over cocktails with celebrity designer and Project Runway alum Korto Momolu (CUT TOE) (MO MO LU) at last weekend's 'Clothes Encounter' hosted by Kerry-Ann Clarke at her Kerry manwomanhome boutique. The confident and vivacious designer -- with over two decades of experience in the fashion industry under her belt -- told SO that she was delighted to now boast a certified customer base here in Jamaica. It's no idle boast: her line went flying off the hangers.

What are you sipping today?

A nicely chilled Spumante.

What kind of day are you having?

I am having a great day. I'm able to show my work, my art and receive feedback from the customers.

Socialite or homebody?

I'm definitely a socialite.

What sparked your interest in fashion designing?

It is a God-given talent. I've always been a creative individual and He showed me the path and I followed.
