Jennifer Hudson talks weight loss and fame

She grew up in a tough neighbourhood in Chicago and earned her keep singing on Disney cruise ships. But Jennifer Hudson's world was turned upside down after competing on American Idol in 2004 and she hasn't looked back since.

She now has an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a Grammy and over a million album sales under her belt and she still can't quite believe it.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Net-a-porter's digital magazine, The Edit, she said: "I didn't know what the Oscars was...where we come from, we don't know anything about that world. If you see it on TV, it's like, 'Oh, people in fancy suits and ties.'

"It is so bizarre to me to say, 'OK, let me go e-mail Beyoncé, let me go talk to Oprah."

"For so long I sat and admired them; now I'm among them."

Dubbed "phenomenally talented" by close friend Alicia Keys, the 32-year-old compares her unprecedented success to losing weight.

"It's one thing to lose it, but it's another to keep it off. Well, it's one thing to make it, but it's another thing to stay. [That is] why you have to constantly do stuff to keep people's attention. It's a hustle, it really is," she said.

Between the sheets with Gisele Bündchen

Poised, polished and perfectly tousled - Gisele Bündchen looks like she's just woken up on the right side of the bed in a sexy new photoshoot.

The lingerie-clad beauty is the antithesis of a slumbering mere mortal - but naturally that's because she's Gisele and is posing in a stylised spread for Vogue Brazil.

She does appear to concede, though, that she doesn't always look quite so perfect when relaxing at home.

Gisele, 33, told the December issue of the publication in an interview accompanying the picture spread: "I think the theme of this photoshoot is really interesting, because it shows the glamorous side and also the relaxed one.

"A woman can look powerful in a party, but when she arrives at home all she wants is to feel comfortable."

The Brazilian beauty is seen in an array of poses; in one she lies across the bed wearing a pair of lacy knickers, and a loose-fitting jumper.

In another she appears topless with a sheet wrapped around her, while for the cover she is clad in a checked coat, which slips down to expose a cream negligee.

The mother-of-two, who is married to NFL star Tom Brady, said she is spending the holiday season in Boston.

She explained: "For me the end of the year is always a time to reflect and recharge my energies.

"I like to relax with my family, so I'll stay with my husband and kids in Boston."
