Celebrity stylist and natural hair specialist Felicia Leatherwood will be Nettle & Moss's featured guest for the Jamaica Observer Takes Style Out, Thursday, September 19. Known in some exclusive circles as "The Hair Whisperer", the Los Angeles-native's client list boasts such A-listers as: Will Smith, Viola Davis, Terrence Howard, Jill Scott, Sanaa Lathan, Kimberly Elise, and Anthony Anderson - and that's only the tip of that iceberg. With her work appearing in such magazine publications as People, Essence & InStyle as well as on the big and silver screens - Leatherwood has positioned herself as the go-to stylist for natural looks in Hollywood.

When it came time to select a specially invited guest, Aisha Morgan, managing director of Nettle & Moss, 44 Lady Musgrave Road, Kingston 10 - multi-brand retailer and distributor of natural and organic skincare and haircare products - always knew this would be the 'Year of Felicia Leatherwood'. In previous years, the retailer has invited Lisa Price of Carol's Daughter and Jane Carter of Jane Carter Solutions, both of whose product lines, the shop carries locally (Of note: Nettle and Moss are the exclusive retailers of Carol's Daughter in the Caribbean).

Come September 19, Leatherwood will be a godsend for curly and kinky hair girls and guys - including those who have undergone the 'Big Chop' - in need of assistance and inspiration as how to style and maintain a healthy natural mane. Using the Jane Carter Solutions product line as well as other brands available at Nettle & Moss, Leatherwood will conduct several, easy styling demonstrations, share natural hair tips and techniques in addition to Q&A participation with TSO shoppers and long-standing Nettle & Moss customers. And as a further cherry-on-the-sundae, Leatherwood herself will administer a 'Big Chop' to a lucky Nettle & Moss raffle winner whose tresses are transitioning and who may be contemplating a drastic renewal to their look.
