Former Prime Minister Blair and wife not on royal wedding guest list
Thursday, April 28, 2011
Cherie Blair is said to be "looking forward to watching the Royal Wedding on television" after she and her husband were left off the guest list. The official line from St James's Palace is that Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, also not invited, are not Knights of the Garter, unlike Baroness Thatcher and Sir John Major. But there is no denying that the relationship between the Royal Family, and the Blairs in particular, was at times very strained. Blair revealed in her memoirs that their youngest son Leo had been conceived at Balmoral as she had been too embarrassed to pack contraception. She allegedly refused to curtsy to the Royal Family, and Mr Blair ruffled royal feathers after the death of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997 when he was critical of the family's "insensitive" and "old-fashioned" approach. At the time of the Millennium celebrations, the Queen looked distinctly uncomfortable as Mr Blair grabbed her hand to sing Auld Lang Syne. His memoirs published last year, when he made unprecedented disclosures about his private dealings with the Queen, would have hardly helped.

Michael Bublé's puffy stomach magically disappears as he spots paparazzi
He found himself the subject of taunts after he unveiled his slightly larger-than-life figure in a pair of trunks on holiday in Australia last month. So now Michael Bublé is doing his very best to conceal his rounded stomach from photographers. But the 35-year-old singer's attempts to hide his portly frame failed miserably on holiday in Venice, when the paparazzi snapped the singer trying to suck in his tummy underneath his tight white T-shirt. However, just seconds later, Bublé clearly thought he was out of sight from photographers -- exhaling and inadvertently showing his actual body shape. Bublé was on honeymoon with his new wife Luisiana Lopilato after they married in a romantic ceremony last month. And clearly the pair thought Italy would be the perfect location for their first holiday as a married couple, given that Bublé's family are from the small town of Preganziol, about 20 kilometres outside Venice.

Michael Jackson's children don't seem to fancy after-school acting club
Their father was one of the most famous people in the world — but it doesn't look like Michael Jackson's children are happy about moonwalking in his footsteps. Paris, 12, Prince, 14, and nine-year-old Blanket have been attending regular after-school acting classes; but look thoroughly bored by them. The trio, who have been living a more normal life since the death of their father in 2009, had said in February that they had fancied following him into showbusiness too. Talking to Good Morning America in February, Paris said that she was thinking of auditioning for a play, though it is not known whether or not she was successful. Prince however was a bit more vague about his career aspirations, saying simply: "continue what our dad was doing." The children are cared for by the Jackson clan matriarch Katherine, 80, who is trying to ensure they have as normal a life as possible -- meaning going to school for the first time.
