Happy Independence and hail our athletes

Rock the Cloth

Saturday, August 04, 2012

We had our article all set for this week until we ran into Aleen Bailey here in London and just thought it perfectly fitting for her to Don the green, black and yellow in honour of our Independence and fellow athletes as we go for gold in London. Aleen is one of our all-time favourite Olympians having been a part of Jamaica's first ever gold medal-winning relay team, so we're honoured to have her Rock The Cloth.

Look 1 features a black linen skirt worn with green and yellow racer back tank tops layered. Matching wooden bangles and the Jamaican flag complete the look.

Look 2 shows the same skirt, but worn instead with a yellow crochet top and a green jacket. The trick to these looks is that you mix and match the same few pieces for different looks.

Look 3 is a converted extra large t-shirt, we showed you how to do this a couple weeks ago, by trimming the neckline and cinching the waist and hip to create a batwing effect. Aleen wears it belted and with leggings here.

Look 4 shows Aleen hoping for warm days here in London so she can wear the converted t-shirt with shorts, or as a mini dress.

Look 5 is a yellow maxi dress, to which she adds the same green tank and black belt to complete the green, black and yellow.

Happy 50th Independence Jamaica, and HAIL TEAM JAMAICA!
