Hey, Ms DJ
DJ ULTRAGRRRL
Sunday, February 10, 2013
Word just in to SO is that Saturday's Sugar Cane Ball — the annual fund-raising event for Hanover Charities — is set to rock at the cashmere-chic Round Hill Hotel & Villas, as the über-hot DJ Ultragrrrl will be the featured entertainment for the Studio 54-themed do.
A music hot commodity on the American club circuit, Ultragrrrl graced the cover of The Village Voice in 2007 and has garnered ink in such glossies as Vanity Fair, GQ, Elle, and New York Magazine, as well as the esteemed New York Times and Wall Street Journal.
The New York-born DJ — a music critic and former assistant editor at Spin magazine — shared with us last Wednesday that she's deliriously excited about her upcoming gig in Jamaica at Round Hill; as are we. Born Sarah Lewitinn, the multitasking lady, who has published two books and has been an opening act for such influential indie-rock and alternative groups as The Killers, current Grammy nominee, The Black Keys, Pet Shop Boys, and Flaming Lips, and will no doubt keep her stint at the turntables here equally interesting.
