Holmes debuts collection at New York Fashion Week

People Post

Friday, September 14, 2012

She is known for her refreshing fuss-free style but Katie Holmes had a good reason to dress to impress last Wednesday.

The actress turned fashion designer was showing her clothing line Holmes & Yang for the first time at New York Fashion Week. The 33-year-old was seen arriving at the Lincoln Center ahead of her collection's presentation and while she looked a little nervous, she wore a small smile on her face.

The ex-wife of Tom Cruise looked glamorous in black skinny jeans and a pretty cream camisole under a leather jacket. Holmes added a pair of glittering gold pumps and a matching necklace, sweeping her straightened brunette tresses into a slick ponytail to complete her look.

Holmes marched into the tents and got straight to work on the models. She was seen dressing the girls and making sure they looked picture-perfect before they were presented to the fashion elite. Holmes and her stylist Jeanne Yang launched their line in 2008 and have been selling it in Barney's ever since.

Mel B goes topless for cancer awareness

She's regularly seen in outfits that highlight her ample cleavage.

And now Mel B has used her curves for a good cause, stripping off to promote a new breast cancer awareness campaign in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan magazine. The Spice Girls star, 37, enlisted the help of her husband Stephen Belafonte as the pair recreated Janet Jackson's iconic Rolling Stone cover, with Belafonte using his hands to protect his wife's modesty. The sexy shot of Mel B and her husband was taken to raise awareness of charity CoppaFeel! ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness month. In the accompanying interview, Mel B said it was important to her to highlight such a worthy cause. She said: “I found a lump when I was 17 and freaked out. It turned out [to be] nothing but it terrified me. Ever since, I've always been one for checking, then doublechecking.”

Leona becomes a lady in red

She's preparing to release her first album in three years.

But instead of a major concert, Leona Lewis treated a select few to a taster of her new music at an intimate gig in London last Tuesday.

The singer, 27, performed in front of her parents Aural and Maria, Kelly Brook and Arun Nayar and a select audience at Annabel's nightclub.

And she certainly looked eyecatching for the acoustic gig, taking to the stage in a flamboyant floor-length red gown.

After belting out a few numbers, Lewis enjoyed the rest of the evening drinking wine and partying with her friends and family until 1:30 am.

Lewis is set to release her third studio album Glassheart, which has been a long work in progress and was originally scheduled for release last year.
