She was indulging in some pampering time in a bubble bath ahead of spending Valentine's night with her husband Nick Cannon.

But Mariah Carey had something of an unwelcome visitor as she soaked herself, when her dog Jill E Beans jumped into the water with her.

However, the superstar appeared entirely unconcerned about the intruder, grinning widely as she held her pooch aloft for a quick snap in the bathroom.

Mariah, 42, tweeted: "Aaaah! Jill E Beans leaps to the tub in hopes of a splash champagne - whhhhy?!"

Earlier, Mariah had shared a more sensual shot of her bath, showing her with her head just above the bubbles, surrounded by candles and flowers as she enjoyed a soak in the tub.

She captioned the picture: "Getting ready for my Valentines Rendezvous consumed by bubbles.. Oh dear.."

Mariah's bath came ahead of a romantic night out with her husband Nick Cannon in New York.

Clearly not holding back when it came to marking the holiday, Nick went all out with a huge bunch of balloons, flowers and a romantic carriage ride in Central Park for his wife.

Mariah dressed to impress in a figure-hugging red gown and leather jacket, with sky-high heels and her hair swept up into a high ponytail.

The footballer is staying in the £15,000-a-night luxurious Imperial Suite at Le Bristol hotel, located on the Faubourg Saint Honoré in the centre of town.

The stunning 3,475 sq ft suite is the largest at the hotel and can house up to 12 guests, so will be the perfect home away from home for David, Victoria and their four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.

Complete with various bedrooms, a dining area and sitting room, the main bedroom also has its own sitting room as well as a large dressing room -- the perfect spot for fashion designer Posh to choose her outfit for the day and -- a 325 sq ft bathroom.

But such luxury certainly doesn't come cheap, with a night in the suite costing ¤17,000 (£14,638).

And with Beckham signed up for a five-month contract with PSG, his temporary abode could set him back a whopping ¤2,040,000 (£1,756,549).

However, it is believed that David's room will be paid for thanks to the team's strong ties with the hotel.

As well as the stunning luxury inside the hotel, its location means that it's the perfect spot from which Victoria can hit all the designer shops.
