Saturday, September 22, 2012

Last week we looked at chic trouser options for the corporate world with a twist. Our focus this week is on the pencil skirt created in the not-so-traditional way. We used brocades, colours and other textures and finishes, keeping the silhouette the same but the finish completely different.

Steps: Skirt

1. Cut

a. front (2) and back of skirt

b. waistband facing

2. Attach lightweight fusible interfacing to waist facing

3. Insert darts.

4. Insert zipper along side or centre back as desired.

5. Join

a. Sides of the facing

b. Skirt sides seams

c. Facing to skirt at waist.

6. Finish seam edges.
