We can keep going for a few more weeks with The Black, Green and Gold because as Jamaicans we have a lot to celebrate right now and many reasons to be proud of our flag, so this week I show a couple of quick ways to add the colours to your looks as you step out in celebration of Jamaica.
Look 1. A pair of cigarette pants can be transformed into tuxedo pants by adding green or gold satin ribbon down the side. Complete the look with a belt in the third colour and your look is complete. This would work equally well with shorts or a skirt.
Look 2. With most of the celebrations outdoors, and in this sweltering heat, head cover is a must; if you don't wish to go out and purchase a hat in black, green and gold, then you can easily add the colours to one that you might already have. For this you can use ribbons, wool rickrack or any other materials that you can find that will do the trick. Simply wrap around the perimeter of the hat and you're good to go!
Look 3. There are rosettes and brooches available everywhere in the colours of the flag that you can pin to your clothes. But why not think a bit outside the box and pin it to a hat or your shoes instead? You can also make your own using a scrap of fabric or ribbon or wool or crochet (if you can).
These ideas illustrate that you need not spend a lot of money to get the look; it just takes a little imagination and time
