Method in the madness

The debate still continues about that dreadful tax package which was withdrawn. One emerging view is that it was presented to demonstrate to the IMF how the Jamaican people would view it. The outrage that followed proved the Government's point. Plausible?

Home sweet home

Hard luck is what people are saying about the recent deportation from Kenya. Some never thought it possible. What seems more perplexing is that the radical is set to be welcomed back home... with open arms. That is the message sent and it's such a boost for international relations. Right? What next?

No word yet?

Speaking of relations, people are wondering if they may have missed the announcement of an ambassador. Some say it must have got lost in the Christmas rush, but others feel there's been no word, and there won't be until...shhh. People seem to be so hush-hush about what was once the talk of the town, one wonders.

Zero tolerance

It seems a tangled web has indeed begun to unravel. Word is that the OCG was not the only place to which the tentacles of deception extended, but that's where action has been taken. People everywhere say 'Happy New Year' to Greg Christie, death threats and all, he's the man!

Pressure cooker principle

They say that when pressure builds if there is no place for some steam to escape, then something will 'blow'. Applied to the economy, word on the ground is that every little relief is now so taxed-out that the lid won't stay on this pot much longer. Poor Jamaica!

What's with the name?

It was Juliet who said "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet". They say the same applies to the Stadium. Call it Greenfield or anything else, it still smells like the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium that's just waiting for a university to take it over.
