Perfectly Polished Part 1

Saturday, August 18, 2012

Delicious mixes of Absolut Lime Cay cocktails, expertly mixed by J Wray & Nephew bartenders, were in high demand when the Under the Dryer team stopped by Denise's Perfectly Polished Barber and Beauty Salon. Clients spent the day being pampered by the team who curled, straightened and created unique hairstyles for hours. Here is what happened…

Clients: Charm, Yonique Page, Antwone Latibeaudiere, and Kadian Durant

Va-va-voom Curls!

Kadian Durant, make-up artist

Your physical appearance is definitely a priority when you are a make-up artist and model. It was therefore no surprise that a few days after getting a fresh new 'do Durant was in the salon once more to try a different look. “My stylist Tanisha knows what she is doing and she takes her time. So it is easy for me to trust her to keep me looking fantastic!” shared Durant.

Steps:

• Apply hair extensions using the bond method.

• Cut the hair in the desired shape.

• Use a large curling iron to create loose curls.

• Lightly mist the hair with NAIROBI® Professional Sheer Spritz.

Kadian's take:

Curls are not usually my thing, I normally wear it straight. I like it though.

Pixie Perfect

Yonique Page, nurse

Yonique popped into the salon before heading off to work for a chic refresher to her look. She repolished her nails and got her hair curled. “This is my first time actually getting my hair done here. I normally stop by to get my nails done,” shared Yonique.

Steps:

• Re-bond the hair extensions to the front of the hair.

• Use a curling iron to style the hair.

• Mist the hair with NAIROBI® Gleam Oil Sheen

• Use a wide-tooth comb to further define the curls.

Yonique's take:

Who better to do my nails than the owner Denise? They look fantastic! My hair also looks pretty great. I have zero complaints.

A Charming 'do

Charm, media personality

This has been Charm's salon of choice for the past eight years. She is a huge fan of keeping her look fresh and funky yet chic. Ahead of filming her programme Wat a Gwaan on CVM, she got her hair curled and make-up applied.

Steps:

• Cleanse the hair with NAIROBI® Professional Detoxifying Shampoo.

• Apply a small quantity of NAIROBI® Humecta-Sil™ Conditioner.

• Flat-wrap the hair with NAIROBI® Wrapp-It Shine Foaming Lotion.

• Apply hair extensions using the bond method.

• Cut the hair in the desired shape.

• Use a large curling iron to create loose curls.

• Lightly mist the hair with NAIROBI® Professional Sheer Spritz

Charm's take:

Love it bad, bad. A dat a gwaan pon wat a gwaan!
