Invited artist and Musgrave medallist Ebony Patterson deems the collections at the sixth staging of the National Biennial “the strongest show to date”. Indeed, the buzz was palpable Sunday last, as art enthusiasts flocked to the National Gallery to soak up the works submitted by 86 Jamaican artists — 50 of whom were invited to exhibit, while the remaining 36 entered through a jury system. The common goal: collecting the prestigious Aaron Matalon Award for best entry. SO gives you a peek at the magnificent pieces now on show at the gallery.
