Savvy Storage Solutions
Do it yourself

I'm finding myself of late more and more in need of storage space. Here's one of my recent solutions: there was a less than attractive space in a corner that served a purpose for housing piping, but offered enough space for storage. So to revamp the space, and add a bit of elegance, we removed the existing door and shelving and replaced it with beautiful wooden cabinetry that offered open shelving storage.
A far more aesthetically pleasing space, it is now used to store toilet paper rolls, towels and decorative storage baskets.
This solution would also work in any room of the house; in the kitchen for extra dishes or baskets, in a bedroom for storing books, or baskets, and in a study or family room to keep storage bins with toys or office supplies. The possibilities are endless.
You might be surprised to know that we used book shelving - the key is being creative and seeing things for more than they appear; so remove those blinkers and keep your eyes open for them. Shelving can replace side tables in a study, for example, and offer far more useful space solutions.
So look around your home and search for more of those savvy solutions.
