Wedding Spectacular Returns to the Wyndham Kingston
Monday, February 18, 2013
The three-day Wedding Spectacular — a weekend showcase of all things nuptial-related (think cakes, photogs, wines, florists, bar, and car services) — returns to the Wyndham Kingston from February 22 to February 24. Now in its second year, the event will feature over 50 bridal vendors including wedding planners, caterers, financial houses, jewellers, hairstylists, and deejay services.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22
Ladies-only Bachelorette/Male Review Launch Party. This event is to be held at the hotel's Jonkunoo Lounge and will be hosted by Bliss Bridal. With ticket prices at $2000, the event will not be limited to brides-to-be; the general public is also welcome to attend. Patrons will be able to win several prizes and gifts at the event. The prize list includes tickets to both exhibitor’s fashion shows and other items. Male exotic group Devine Men of Choice will provide entertainment for the night. The entrance policy — strictly females.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23
A Day of Bliss. Patrons can expect to be treated with complimentary wines and champagne. The fashion shows, which aren't limited to bridal wear, will showcase designs from past Mission Catwalk stars Ayanna Dixon and Rebecca Stirm. Rebecca’s line is geared towards the reception and after-party. Ayanna will also showcase her ASD 'honeymoon' swimwear line. To top the night off, Dexter Huxtable (best known for his menswear line Spokes Apparel) will showcase designs targeted towards grooms.
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 24
The Promise. Patrons can come out to watch the “TRASH THE DRESS” demonstration by Marcia E Roberts. This event will take place at the Wyndham poolside. Marcia will demonstrate the popular North Coast trend, and patrons can watch as several brides and grooms jump into the pool fully clothed. This promises to be an exciting photo shoot. The fashion shows of the night will showcase lines from Petals & Promises, Whitelotus designs, Bliss Bridal, and Earl's Tailoring, Spokes Apparel, and there will also be a special presentation from Mission Catwalk Season 1 winner Shenna Carby.
Patrons can also expect seminars on skin care hosted by Sacha Cosmetics; on floral designs and bouquets hosted by Tai Flora; and on financial planning hosted by Victoria Mutual Building Society. Makeovers, interactive demonstrations as well as giveaways take place on both days. Each day will close with the grand raffle prize for “My Big Fabulous Wedding” — a complete wedding sponsored with gifts from all the wedding vendors and suppliers in the Wedding Spectacular. So if you’re thinking of a trip to the altar anytime soon, Vows recommends the Wedding Spectacular.
