Strength of a Woman!

Thursday, March 10, 2016

Just ahead of International Women’s Day, the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) successfully hosted its first full conference on Monday, in the Montego Suite at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.

Sponsored by Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB), the event saw a host of female movers and shakers in attendance, and featured inspiring presentations by president and CEO of ASE Consulting and Women of Distinction Awardee Kwayera Archer Cunningham; president and CEO of First Global Bank, founder of Teach Caribbean, and Rhodes Scholar Mariame McIntosh Robinson; as well as outgoing professor of computational linguistics at the University of Sussex, Donia Scott.

Topics of discussion ranged from striking the balance between family and career, maintaining one’s authenticity whilst climbing the ladder of success, and shattering the glass ceiling in the workplace. Friday Social brings you more from the esteemed gathering!
