The hot and fierce trend... animal print

Saturday, February 11, 2012

At the start of every fashion season, fashionistas wait with bated breath and bulging pocketbooks to see what the hot new trends will be. Last week we covered the top three colours of 2012 (according to Pantone) and this week we feature the of-the-moment trend...animal prints. We're seeing it everywhere these days, so why not here?

The thing with this look is that it is sooo fierce and "trendy" that it's best worn in splashes. It really shouldn't cost you too much because more than likely you won't be wearing it again, so this is the perfect time to Rock the Cloth. Our fabric choice today is a FABULOUS gauzy chiffon we found at Ping's that was among many other amazing animal prints, but this particular print was available in two colours, a beautiful turquoise and a red; we just fell in love with them.

All looks today can be had for under $1500, so you can get the look and rock this trend for very little.

Look 1 shows Jessica and Ameala draped in their fabulous animal prints from Ping's. Ameala 's look is a one-shoulder asymmetrical dress and Jessica's is a halter top that falls into a sexy cowl, cinched at the waist for a fitted skirt.

Look 2 shows Jessica wearing all kinds of trends: the tiger print in trendy harem trousers available at Joseph's for just $1200. She simply wrapped a complementary mustard (and colour of the year) into a halter top.

Look 3 shows Ameala rocking two trends as well; a romper in a leopard print. This was a lucky find at Joseph's for only $1000.

Look 4. Bold accessories are a great way to rock a trend if you're not bold enough to wear it in your clothes. These bold and beautiful earrings that we found at Joseph's for only $250 each, in a zebra and a tiger print, complement any outfit whether it be black, neutral or a bright colour.
