Tis the season for hectic schedules, tight budgets, and stress-inducing to-do lists. With all the excitement that comes with the fast approaching holiday season, it's hard to find the "you" time you need to make sure you're looking you're absolute best. Fret not; we're here to make sure all your beauty needs are covered. We've been spotting the trends all year long, and are well equipped to bring you style inspiration for soirée season that will take you from the office to the playground in no time!

Top Knots

Arguably the hottest hair trend of the year, top knots have been spotted everywhere. From sleek and shiny, to textured and messy, these high buns are clearly not going away anytime soon. A fab twist on the "plain ol' bun", they're the quintessential "office to playground" look. The top knot and messy high bun are also super chic and a great option for showing off an outfit with impressive shoulder or neck detail.

Side-Swept Waves

Another big hit at parties this year, side-swept waves bring a dose of old Hollywood glam to the modern day soirée - the hairstyle is a flirty variation of the much coveted vintage waves, and quite a number of stylish celebs have been donning the 'do at awards ceremonies and film premieres recently.

Whether you're the type of girl who goes for structured vintage waves or looser, beachy waves, the side-swept style is ideal for ladies who tend to wear their hair down on a daily basis. All you have to do is sweep your hair to the side for a more formal look and you're ready for a night on the town. This style works best on medium to long lengths and is perfect for showing off party dresses with exquisite illusion backs. It also looks stunning with strapless dresses too!

Side Braids

Braids are another versatile trend that has been all the rage for quite some time now. This year we've seen fabellas take this popular look and make it their own in more ways than one. The side braid is hands down our favourite way to rock it. The super-cute style of braiding goes over the shoulder and looks especially gorg with side-swept bangs, or loose - and somewhat messy - curly tendrils. Red carpet starlets have been spotted wearing everything from the fishtail side braid to the more intricate waterfall braids. One way or another, this is a definite 'do for the season!

Elegant Updos

A timeless classic for any festive occasion is the elegant updo. Great for any hair texture, the versatility of this style is the source of its appeal. Be it a bouffant, a pompadour, a chic chignon, volumised twists pulled back into a bun, loose curls or tight knots, the variations of this 'do all straddle the line between casual and fancy, allowing a seamless transition from day to night.

Adding a gorgeous hair accessory to your 'do is an easy trick for upping the style ante. A bedazzled accessory, a fascinator, a turban, fresh flowers or a headband can go a long way when glamming up your everyday style. Best of all, fabulous hair accessories are great for adding oomf to both long and short hairstyles.
