At the JLP's Area Council One meeting on Sunday, Andrew Holness said anyone who was not on his platform, endorsing him, were losers and that only winners could lead him.
Does this mean he only acknowledges the opinions of those from the members of parliament the JLP has sitting in Gordon House that support him?
This is sad that Holness is suggesting that if you did not win a seat, you have no say in how the JLP should move forward. This is obviously the reason he is being challenged.
The majority of the 42 candidates who lost in the 2011 election must have felt sidelined by Holness, and felt his scorn as he sees them as losers.
Holness should not forget, however, that he too is responsible for these losses. Several things attrbuted to the loss. He called an early election. He then led a campaign which was based on his youth and forgot the "team effect", and the list goes on.
If you ask me, Mr Holness may even be a part of the JLP's losing factors. He was thrown into something he was not ready for, and is now blaming the unsuccessful candidates.
