Stanja Grindley, daughter of Gerry Grindley, one time head of the powerful Grimax Advertising Company, wed Roger McKenzie Seivwright, director of technology at Unique Vacations, in what many have already hailed as one of Montego Bay's most glamorous affairs for 2005.

The wedding details commenced at the historic St James Parish Church where Jamaica's most noted awaited the arrival of the bride, exquisitely dressed by Pronovia of Spain.

Cutting the cake

Vows were exchanged under the watchful eyes of reverend Canon Justin Nembhard and Father Gregory Ramkissoon, and included the symbolic lighting of the candles by both mothers.

The groom, himself nattily attired, slipped the Tiffany circle atop the Chopard solitaire.

The bridal party included: maid of honour Tricia Grindley; bridesmaids Lisa Clowes, Rowena Coe, Sandra Clato-Day and Sharda Chatani; flower-girls Anamaria Seivwright and Sakina Bromfield; bestman Davey Seivwright; groomsmen Jason Abrahams, Robert Stewart, Mark Roberts and Christopher Gore; and ring-bearer Ransom Reed.

The elegant bridal party

The reception followed at Sandals Cay (formerly Kokomo Island) where guests, enveloped by Coral Gardens and Ironshore on the shoreline, enjoyed a gastronomical spread of Mediterranean and local fare. The many children in attendance relished the sweet tastes from the chocolate fountain.

Noted attorney-at-law Winston Spaulding toasted the Grindleys in a 'short' toast sprinkled with political and historical perspectives. Spaulding described both families as "distinguished families who have set an example of what parenting is all about".

Other lawyers continued the toasts (all converts by way of 'Father' Dave Seivwright, a lawyer by profession but who now converts professionals to the gospel and teachings of Christ).

Bestman and brother of the groom Davey Seivwright delivered an amazing stand-up comedy routine which centred on the childhood rivalry between both brothers.
