Lady G strikes back with Woman Intuition

Veteran female deejay Lady G, whose career dates back to the late 1980s, takes a big swipe at Kip Rich's Telephone Ting with her response Woman Intuition. The single was released two weeks ago on the Big Yard label and is featured on the My Baby rhythm.

Woman Intuition might just be the big hit that Lady G, whose real name is Janice Fyffe, has been banking on for a while now. It has been getting steady rotation on radio and its accompanying video clip is also quite popular.

The single is being distributed by Tuff Gong International.

Must Get A Beaten heats up in the record shops

The rhythm accompanying Peter Tosh's Dem A Fi Get A Beaten recording has been reworked and updated by producer Rocky Gibbs. In addition to Tosh, the project has on board names such as Buju Banton, Capleton and Junior Reid, Yami Bolo and Chuck Fenda, Bush Man, Luciano, Queen Ifrika, Tony Rebel, Natty King, Chezidek, Everton Blenda, Admiral Tibet, George Nooks, Marky Scorcher, Ranaco and Phillip Myaz.

Rock and Groove Music in Premier Plaza has been given the sole responsibility of distribution of the singles on the Must Get A Beaten rhythm. Incidentally, among the top sellers so far is the Buju Banton/Peter Tosh collaboration Must Get A Beaten which is number one on the New York and South Florida Reggae charts.

Bouncing with the heavyweights

Greensleeves Rhythm Album #72 various artistes compilation features the Byron Murray-produced Bounce rhythm. The line-up on this interesting compilation features a virtual who's who from the dancehall world.

Tracks include Tek Weh You AK by Capleton, Shake Up You Na Na by Sizzla, Bullet Proof by Beenie Man, See A Man You Want by Mad Cobra, Money Washing Machine by Macka Diamond and Mad Cobra, Bounce by Voisemail, Can You by Cecile, Out and Bad by Left Side and Esco, Party Vibes by Buju Banton, Suicide by Ward 21, I've Been Around by Turbulence, Hot Gal by Macka Diamond, Outside by Wayne Marshall, Dem A Call You Name by Black-er, I Will Love To by Da'Ville, Tek My Joy by Hawkeye, Too Little by Lady G, and Mr Sugar Dough by Future Troubles.

The singles from the Bounce rhythm are being distributed by In the Streetz.

Shane Brown's Tap Dance rhythm released

Capleton, Vybz Kartel, Delicious, Ward 21, Macka Diamond, Black-er, TOK, Elephant Man, Twin of Twins, Kip Rich, Voisemail, Lady Saw, Delly Ranx, Unicorn, Red Rat, Shane-O, Angel and Red Square are among the names featured on the Tap Dance rhythm.

The Tap Dance rhythm was produced by engineer turned producer Shane Brown.

Capleton's Pull Up has been the biggest seller so far, having made its impact on local charts.

The singles are being distributed by In the Streetz Distribution.

Toledo, Small Town and Gladiator rhythms new from One Love Distribution

The Toledo (Sound Truck Production label) rhythm, which features tracks from Mr G, Singing Sweet, Tyrical, Fahrenheit, Queen Ifrika, Zumjay, Macka Diamond and Lady G, is among the latest releases out of the One Love International Distribution outlet at College Crescent, Kingston 20.

Other new releases from the One Love distribution outlet include the Blank label's Small Town rhythm, which features Bounty Killer, General Degree and TOK. The label's Gladiator rhythm features collaborations with Beenie Man, Wyclef Jean and Anthony B.
