Baddis rhythm still hot the second time around

It was eight years ago that producer Richard 'Shams' Browne, who was an in-house studio engineer at Main Street Records, scored big with the Baddis rhythm on his Hi-Profile label. The Baddis raced up the charts with multiple hits including Mr Vegas' Jacket, Beenie Man's Number One, Bag a Tings by General Degree, Freaky Type by Tanya Stephens, and Hardcore Lover by TOK featuring Lady Saw.

With the resurrection of a number of dancehall rhythms from the past, Browne has decided to try his luck the second time around with the Baddis on his B-Rich label, and it has been making quite an impact on radio and in the dancehall. This time around, the project features nineteen songs. They include Cecile's hot single Woman Tings (in which she staunchly defends women in any issue and incites the ire of men). Incidentally, Cecile's video for Woman Tings was released to video outlets last weekend.

Also contributing to the Baddis is Macka Diamond with Nuh Fren Mate, in which she clearly makes her point come across in an effective way. Mr Vegas and Lexxus are riding a high these days with their Baddis effort, Taxi Fare, clearly one of the highlights of the rhythm.

Other songs include Bad out Deh and Wifey by Alozade, Under Deh by Kip Rich, Viagra by Harry Toddler, Like You by Elephant Man, Shotta and Hotta by TOK, Walk Out by Lady Saw, and Ready Fi Kill by the self-styled Warlord, Bounty Killer. Lady G, Black-er, MíLonie, Mr G, Red Rat, and the Monster Twins are also featured on the Baddis. Distribution is being handled by In the Streetz Distribution at the Domes on Hagley Park Road in Kingston.

Golden Kartel label is back with the Pure Joy rhythm.
In the Streetz is also distributing the singles from the Pure Joy rhythm, anchored by the Golden Kartel label. The label scored big in 2002 with the Hard Drive rhythm, which contained hits such as Online by Elephant Man and Been Together for a Long Time by Sizzla among others.

The Pure Joy rhythm features Nice and Lovely by Sizzla; They Think I'm Crazy by Jah Mason; Perilous Times by Fantan Mojah; Rasta Children by Yami Bolo; Oh It Hurts by Singing Sweet; Selassie Law by Chrisinti; Your Face by Jessie Jendah; and Cut Yuh Speed by Little Hero.

Richie Stephens, Turbulence, Sizzla and Bounty Killer top the playlist rhythm

Richie Stephens, Turbulence, Sizzla and Bounty Killer are the top names featured on the Playlist rhythm, which has been released on the Campfire Production label.

Stephens' effort is titled Strength of Your Love, while Turbulence throws down the jam Got No Love. World Gone Crazy is Bounty Killer's take while Wayne Marshall comes forth with Forgive Them Please. Touch Me by Sizzla is also thrown in for good measure, so too Lisa's cover of India Arie's Video.

All Access Entertainment is handling the distribution of the songs on the Playlist rhythm.

Pam Hall doubles up

It's been a while since we heard any new material from veteran singer Pam Hall. Well that drought will be eased momentarily with the release of two new singles from Hall. The songs are Moonlight Lover and Outta Order both on the Virquarian Music label. The singles are being distributed by All Access Entertainment.
