Carlene Carter weds at Cinnamon Hill
Observer Reporter
Thursday, February 09, 2006

The bride and groom in wedded bliss.

CARLENE Carter, the eldest daughter of June Carter Cash and country and music legend Johnny Cash, tied the knot with Los Angeles television personality Joe Brown at Cinnamon Hill last Saturday.

The ceremony took place at the foot of the historic waterfall where Annie Palmer worked her voodoo in the 19th century and where Jane Seymour and Roger Moore filmed the James Bond hit, Live and Let Die.

The bride, dressed in her ivory-beaded gown with her long, sandy tresses, rode her tulle-dressed golf cart to the waterfall, where her husband-to-be awaited her with matron of honour and family friend, Michelle Rollins, and the Reverend Tony Ottey of Montpellier. She walked the orchid-petaled path to the foot of the waterfall where she said "I do" between an explosion of orchids on each side and the violin and flute of the John Davis musical duo.

The Ritz-Carlton Golf and Spa Resort's white-gloved butlers proceeded to serve a gourmet wedding dinner on the 15th waterfall hole of the golf course while chefs Rayon Howard and Earnest Levy sautéed and flambéed their wedding feast on site.

The table glittered and sparkled against Heather Wates' magical arrangements of some of the island's tropical flowers. The banquet table was anchored with two magnificent silver candelabras on each side with flowing arrangements and the centrepiece with two shades of red roses, white roses and white dendrobium orchids.

Ruby red chargers outlined the Caribbean Lobster Tail Amusebouché with rum-cured Duck Risotto and caramelised onions, followed by main courses of banana-leaf-wrapped grouper and Beef Wellington. The Dadlani family's personal Waterford crystal held the sparkling beverages.

Pastry chefs Alicia Woodbine and Earnest Levy surprised the bride with a three-chocolate wedding cake - a replica of an Autoharp - the signature instrument of the Carter family, the first family of country music.
