
Reggae world salutes Culture tonight

The who's who in cultural reggae will descend on the lawns of the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre tonight to celebrate the life and work of international reggae star, Joseph 'Culture' Hill.
Scheduled to kick off at 6:00pm, the free concert billed A Night Of Strictly Culture will feature a massive line-up of reggae's greatest performers to date. Those who helped to create the music and those who have brought international fame to Jamaica through its music will be coming together to pay their last respects to Joseph Culture Hill on Friday.
Headlining the list of performing artistes will be Luciano, Anthony B, Bob Andy, Big Youth, U Roy, Jimmy Riley, George Nooks, Tony Rebel, Dean Fraser, Tamlins, Leroy Sibbles, Carlene Davis, Taurus Riley, Josie Wales, Natty King, Lovindeer, Prodigal, Junior Kelly, Bunny Brown, Nadine Sutherland, Sly Dunbar, Peter Lloyd, Lloyd Parkes, Gullibanque, Limey, Boscom X, Mystic Revealers, Grace Thrillers, Pam Hall, Charlie Chaplin, Mighty Diamonds, Toots, Queen Ifrica, Bankie Banx, Etana, Katalyst Crew, Chuck Fender and more. MCs will be Tommy Cowan, Mutabaruka and Denise Miller.
The family of Culture will also be staging their own celebrations in the form of a prayer vigil on Friday evening before and after the concert at Mount Salus, Mannings Hill Road.
Culture will be laid to rest on Saturday, September 9, with a church service at the Emmanuel Apostolic Church, 12 Slipe Road in Kingston. Viewing will take place between 9:00am- 12:00 noon and interment will be at Dovecot Memorial Park.
