Cover girl Jeneil racks up Italian BMM spread

Sunday, March 11, 2007

Pulse model Jeneil Williams is now the cover girl and editorial star of the current issue of Italian fashion bible BMM, the agency said Friday. The 17-year-old was also named models.com World Model of the Week.

Jeneil landed the fall/winter Bennetton campaign last season and with BMM, Pulse says, is now staking her claim as one of fashion's most important new editorial and campaign stars, adding that to her debut cover and massive 20-page spread in the high fashion Italian magazine, is a clear announcement, if one were needed, that Jeneil has arrived.

In the issue, entitled Places of the Soul, Williams chronicles page after page of high fashion in a story that features ten of the industry's leading designers, from Prada to Fendi, and Gaultier to Galliano. Hair (the season's ultra chic bobs in an assortment of colours) and make-up fully complement the outstanding photo story captured by photographers Stratis & Bev in the desert outside Las Vegas, Nevada.

"This shoot was very challenging because it was extremely hot, but I was able to pull it off. The clothes were amazing and I wanted to do a good job," says Jeneil. Although the young model says that things were challenging for her on location, she says the end results are a testament to the hard work.
Supermodel status beckons, not only in Europe and North America, but also in Asia. Jeneil was selected for and shot the fashion spread for Japan's Neutral magazine at the end of February.

It is clear, the agency says, that Jeneil has what it takes to catapult a career into the big leagues. The flawless, dark chocolate skin from head to toe and the long, lean physique are just a few of the features which make her stand out among her peers. When asked what she thought made her special as a model, the former athlete, said "my skin, by far".

But it's more than her skin and her lean physique that makes Jeneil special.

Considered special from the moment she was discovered by Pulse in the Caribbean Model Search 2005, the then 16-year-old, though somewhat reserved, had a quiet confidence and showed tremendous promise from early on. She always had a stunning glow and took great photos from her first test. Jeneil will next hit the runway at Pulse's Rock The World event, beginning next Wednesday at the One Love Jamaica Village, New Kingston.
