Nah go a jail? MONDAY MUSINGS with Yasmine |

While deejay Busy Signal is loudly affirming his position on the jail scenario "Nah go a jail; Oh No", his deejay colleagues seem hellbent on proving otherwise.
The latest vicitm to be so caught up is Aidonia, who was last week slapped with gun charges. Will they ever learn? Of course, the perennial question is: Why is it that these entertainers seem to have an ongoing love affair with illegal guns? Names that come to mind are Mikey Spice, Abdel Wright, Bascom X, Jah Cure, Sizzla and of course, the poster child for all things gun, most of all the talk, the original-gold-teeth-gun-pon-teeth-don-gorgon, Ninjaman. All of these have either been to jail, still serving time in prison, or at one point or the other have been detained and questioned by the police in connection with illegal weapons. It was in 2005 that Sizzla, for example, was detained, and subsequently released, in relation to a find of six AK 47s, a sub-machine gun and three sniper rifles. Ninja's run-ins with the law are legendary and he was actually sent to prison for a short time on gun-related charges. The others have all been held with possession of illegal guns, either in their houses or on their person.
The rule is really quite simple: If the police catch you with an illegal gun, they will detain you, charge you, carry you to court, and more than likely, the judge will hand down a prison sentence. End of career. (At least for a while.) Incidentally, singer Mikey Spice, who served time for possession of an illegal gun has been converted to Christianity. Like the words of his mega hit, Spice is now practising what he preaches.
Bess 100 'giving it to dem'
With the plethora of radio stations, it's really hard to stick to one for any period of time, however, Bess FM has our dial stuck. It was during the last general elections that we discovered Bess 100 FM (won't go into details) and have been tuning in ever since. Their selections are wicked. Whether it's oldies or contemporary, the station has it going on. What can we say but more power to Bess.
Best potato pudding around town
This probably sounds a bit like Foodie News, but we just have to muse about Claudette Kemp's potato pudding. It is absolutely divine, you know the type that is perfectly moist with the soft gel- like substance at the top and the right amount of everything.
Actually, those who have tasted Claudette's offerings - and it doesn't stop at pudding - have encouraged her to open a restaurant, but what with managing Capleton, she doesn't have time for that. And like the lady herself said, "If I say I am baking to sell, the whole batch would spoil. I just bake and give to friends."
