From the looks of the Mas Camp on Monday night one would think there was a full blown Friday night fete in action. On the contrary, however, the venue was packed with patrons who came out in droves from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm to work up a sweat at the season opening of Powerade Soca'cise.
Keeping within the overall Bacchanal Dreams theme, this year Powerade Soca'cise has been appropriately dubbed 'Dream Bodies'.
The sessions are led by chief instructor Pepper Dawson from the Sweat Shop gym, whose charismatic personality and high energy have worked the fit-probing crowd into a frenzy in past years. Dawson described Monday night's opening as "one of the best opening nights to-date".
"The energy level was very good and the crowd seemed eager to get fit for the road parade," added Dawson. Set to the rhythm of soca beats, Soca'cise is a two-hour-long heart-pumping, booty-shaking, cardiovascular-building aerobic activity guaranteed to get you sweating.
On the whole, it also provides many health benefits such as keeping excess pounds at bay, increasing your stamina, boosting your mood and reducing many health risks. So why not gather a few friends or meet some more while you sweat those pounds away in a fun and exciting way.
Powerade Soca'cise will be held every Monday and Wednesday at the Mas Camp until March 12, 2008 when the sessions will come to a close with the grand blowout of Fit Fete! What's even better about Soca'cise is that there is no charge to attend a session.
Soca'cisers can look forward to a fun-filled season loaded with new ideas, fun giveaways and friendly competitions. Also set to appear on the Soca'cise stage are master guest instructors, including Mr Universe Natural Body Building Champ, Richard Scotchman, who made an appearance at the opening night.
Fame FM also brings the party to you with their live broadcast at every Soca'cise session.
"Soca'cise is a fun way to becoming a fit person, it's just something about the music, the lights, the crowd and the vibe," said Dawson.
