Jamaica farewell for Mikey Dread

The late legendary broadcaster, record producer and artiste, Michael 'Mikey Dread' Campbell, who died a week ago in Connecticut, USA, will be buried in his native parish of Portland, Jamaica on Saturday, April 5.

Thanksgiving service for the musical innovator internationally known as 'The Dread at the Control', will be held at the Anglican Church in Port Antonio, with interment at the Prospect Cemetery in the parish. There will also be a service of celebration this Sunday (March 30) in Stamford, Connecticut, USA at the Downer Funeral Home, 31 Stilwater Avenue.

Mikey Dread, the studio engineer/technician who revolutionised Jamaican radio with his groundbreaking reggae show 'The Dread at the Control Tower' died at age 54, on Saturday, March 15, from a brain tumour.
