Fashion icon and creative consultant to Ocean Style Freddie Leiba has reviewed the lines ahead of the weekend show. With cocktails set to start at 7:30 pm the fashionably late are well-advised to arrive in time for the 9:00 pm start of the show where they will be treated to various segments including a special showcase by Kerry manwomanhome local designer Lubica and others, a swimwear segment, an urban-themed segment, and ending with a truly global tribute to the world of high fashion with the likes of Venezuelan Angel Sanchez, Italian designer Alberta Ferretti and fellow Italian design house Moschino; France is represented by Catherine Malandrino and Jean-Paul Gaultier, with Lebanese fashion designer Reem Acra, who was a huge hit at this year's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, and Americana Ralph Lauren.
The runway will include some surprise Caribbean designers as well as some carefully chosen pieces from other lines aimed at wowing the discerning fashionistas who are to attend.
This year Ocean Style and Kerry have expanded the celebrity quotient for the event, and in partnership with ESPN are producing the Ocean Style/ESPN Golf Invitation where apparently there is a US$1-million shootout prize on offer - that's enough to put a lot of fashion in your closet! In additional to the ESPN coverage, the weekend's events are being widely covered by local, regional and international media.
A special Island Routes Cocktail Cruise will welcome the celebrities and VIPs to the island on Friday night to kick off their active weekend of events.
