Natalie Portman reveals why she won't rule out plastic surgery

Friday, November 06, 2009

With her pompadour hairstyle and smoky dark eyes, Natalie Portman shows her tough side as she rocks an altogether sexy androgynous look.

Natalie Portman spoke about plastic surgery and doing nude scenes in an interview with V Magazine for which she was photographed by Mario Testino

But despite being in her prime, the actress is under no illusions about the short shelf life of many Hollywood stars.

In an interview with V Magazine, the 28-year-old admits she worries about getting old and opens up about why she finds nude scenes so difficult. She said, "You see people who were stars five years ago and already they're waning. As actresses approach 40, it starts becoming really, really difficult."

But despite being years from reaching the dreaded 4-0, she remains ambivalent about plastic surgery in the future. "I would hope not," she says of whether she'd ever go under the knife.

However, she does not completely rule it out, explaining that she won't know how she'll feel as she ages.

While wrinkles aren't a problem yet, she admits, "if I have a pimple I want to get rid of it." Portman, who has shied away from nude scenes in the past, also spoke about taking on a role in Darren Aronofsky's next film Black Swan.

It contains a pretty serious sex scene, and a lesbian one at that, but she insists "it's not raunchy - it's extreme".

These are the kinds of roles she used to avoid, at first turning down the 1999 film Anywhere But Here because of a nude scene, which was cut to get her back on board.

Speaking on the matter she said, "It's annoying because online bullsh*t interferes with what I want to do artistically. I'm not opposed to sexuality or nudity in a film, but I'm very opposed to pornography sites and you're pretty much giving them material if you do any of that. That has always been a big dilemma for me."

The actress, who turned 40 in September, was spotted in New York Wednesday sporting a rather bizarre-looking granny hat.
