Bathroom remodelling ranks close with kitchen remodelling as a popular home improvement project these days. This is partly because it increases the home's value, and also because we are pampering ourselves more, creating luxury baths which serve as private retreats.
Today, bathroom interior design combines the use of glass, stone, tiles, metal and wood as well as luxurious amenities for a sophisticated look. There are many variables in every category of bathroom fittings and fixtures, so remodeling a bathroom can cost as much or as little as you choose.

Quality and personal satisfaction are the most important factors to consider when choosing any product, so it is important to figure out what it is you need from your bathroom remodelling project before you begin.
Thinking about remodelling this Christmas? Here are some of the popular bathroom trends to consider:
Increasing the bathroom size to accommodate everything the homeowner wants: furniture, separate shower and bath and large, airy walk-in showers.
Replacing noisy Jacuzzis with soaking tubs; the free-standing tub has become very popular.
Adding fixtures with more than one function, for example, above counter sinks that serve as a sink and displayed art; separate shower and bath.
Making the toilet private: Creating a separate room for the toilet in the master bathroom, or at least a privacy wall.
Bathroom as entertainment zones: As people spend more time relaxing in the bathroom they are requesting creature comforts such as coolers, flat screen TVs, music, and chaise lounges for reading and relaxing.
Adding colour: Natural colours are more flexible, but a splash of bold colour adds much more interest.
Combining different materials: Glass and chrome, wood and stone, even stainless steel has been introduced into the bathroom. Glass tile has emerged as a favourite material along with glass and porcelain tiles.
Increasing use of eco-friendly products: Earlier there was the introduction of toilets with low water consumption, this has now been extended to showering models. People are prepared to pay more to save the environment.
Manufacturers continue to produce a stream of exquisite, revolutionary products with updated technology and glamorous finishes. Who knew that tubs, toilets and sinks would generate the attention that they do today?
