Did Madonna put on the greatest show on Earth?

People Post

Wednesday, February 08, 2012

She declared she had to put on 'the greatest show on Earth, during the greatest show on Earth' and Madonna certainly didn't disappoint. The singer, 53, put on an impressive performance during the halftime show of the NFL Super Bowl XLVI football game between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.

There was just one small slip-up onstage where the singing legend was strutting her way across the bleachers to Music, the second song in her set, and was unable to step up onto one of them and had to repeat the dance move to hoist herself up. Despite the tiny mistake Madonna stunned crowds, singing her way through classic hits Vogue, Like a Prayer, as well as performing her new song Give Me All Your Luvin.

While the pressure to perform well was immense and greatly felt, Madonna rose to the challenge and she can be thankful she avoided any Janet Jackson-style wardrobe malfunctions. Her small error was laughed off by the true professional and even Madonna laughed it off, throwing herself into the next sequence of the set. Aside from that trivial mistake, which she styled out, the singer put on an energetic and fun show with help from LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, MIA and Cee Lo Green.

Brady’s teammates furious at his wife Gisele

Tom Brady's team are said to be furious after Gisele Bundchen poured salt on their wounds following the New England Patriots' defeat at the Super Bowl yesterday.

Just moments after Brady's team lost to the New York Giants 21-17, the supermodel was overheard slamming her husband's side in response to taunts from fans.

While waiting for the elevator to leave the VIP suites at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Giselle let rip in a F-word rant which saw her slam his teammates' efforts on the field. In video footage captured by theinsider.com, she was heard saying: "My husband can not f****ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times." Her swipe at the Patriot receivers is said to have left Brady's fellow players feeling 'disappointed', with claims she violated 'the code of brotherhood'.

A source told TMZ: 'It's like knocking someone when they are down.' Later the Brazilian model met with her husband behind the scenes at the event where she consoled him with hugs.

Wearing a leather jacket, with a black dress over her black trousers and a black and white scarf, Gisele headed behind the scenes at the stadium to try to brighten her husband's evening. According to reports, he was so dejected after the match had finished that he spent almost 20 minutes sitting down in the Patriots locker room staring at the floor.

M.I.A’s team launch into damage control after Super Bowl middle-finger moment

British rapper M.I.A is said to be blaming 'nerves' and adrenaline' for her controversial rude gesture during a performance at the Super Bowl yesterday.

The singer — best known for the hit song Paper Planes — flipped her middle finger and swore into the camera during her rap solo as over 100 million fans around the world watched the performance.

While all eyes were on Madonna for a scandalous moment, the broadcasters were caught by surprise by the 36-year-old and scrambled to obscure the gesture in time. With one foot up on the podium, the 36-year-old rapped: 'I don't give a s***' and pulled the rude gesture during a live performance of Madonna's new song, Give Me All Your Luvin, alongside the pop queen and fellow rapper Nicki Minaj.

The screen briefly was blurred in what seemed like a late attempt to cut out the camera shot and Madonna, who at this point was lying on her back behind the rapper, appeared blissfully unaware of the controversial move. The NFL, which produces the show, and the broadcaster, NBC, both apologised immediately but blamed each other for the incident.
