Go Bold, Go Body-Con!

Get the Look

Saturday, January 14, 2012

The versatile body-con skirt is a closet must-have for the budding fashionista. Not only can this skirt be worn to an after-work cocktail party or club night with your girlfriends, but the longer versions can pass muster in the corporate world. The flattering trend is also known for its wide variety of styles, colours, lengths and fabrics for the chicster in the know, to have her pick of the type of body-con she prefers. It was a huge sensation in 2011, and is set to make a comeback in 2012 with the even bolder colours and designs that are being produced by top designers around the globe in their spring and summer collections. Here is how you can snag the über-trendy look, courtesy of our friends from Grandeur Femme Boutique...

Types:

* Panel

* Metallic/ Sequinned

* Bandage

* High Waist

Dos and Don'ts of the body-con

* Do go bold with your body-con skirt.

* Do pair it with a solid-coloured blazer or boyfriend jacket for a less casual look.

* Don't attempt to wear a short body-con skirt for business purposes.

* Do remember that less is more. If your body-con is metallic or in a bold colour, pair it with minimal accessories and a simple top.

* Do try to be fashion-forward by pairing your striped or black bandage body-cons with tights or leggings.

* Don't be afraid of giving the body-con skirt a try. Though it is form-fitting, it can be very flattering on every body type if worn properly.

* Do try pairing it with dark ballet flats or boots if you go with a bold coloured body-con skirt.
