After an immersion in the artistry of master painter Barrington Watson at the National Gallery of Jamaica last Sunday, a trek through the streets of downtown Kingston — a place once hailed as the financial capital of the city — seemed in order. Replete with history — and typically bursting at the seams with frenetic energy in its busy streets — the area had an uncharacteristically chill atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon when most people, we reckon, felt content to stay in. There were those, however, who were still out to conduct trade, shop and indulge in recreational activities. SO shares scenes.
