The Ties That Bind
Style Observer
Sunday, January 15, 2012
Art enthusiasts were treated to a viewing of selected pieces from celebrated American artist Johnny Johnson, Friday last, at the Mutual Gallery. The exhibition — Celebrating the Ties that Bind: 50 Years of Friendship — is the first in a series of activities undertaken by the US Embassy in recognition of Jamaica's 50th year of independence. "I couldn't be happier to host someone of his calibre and warmth in Jamaica," US Ambassador Pamela Bridgewater told SO. In-between the dialogue sparked by the artist's conversation pieces, guests sipped on Angaro merlot and chardonnay, while nibbling on tasty treats courtesy of Jacqui Tyson. Your access has been granted.
