This October Think Pink...

It's Pink Ribbon Month!

Have you picked up the must-have item of the month yet? October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, four weeks when we shine the spotlight on a disease that threatens every woman....

The pink ribbon, long the symbol of the fight against breast cancer has returned, but this year, in addition to ribbons, local cancer support group Reach to Recovery have introduced their own version of the rubber wristbands (a la Livestrong bands) that are now all the rage.

Both bands and ribbons are being sold at nominal costs to raise funds for the Jamaica Cancer Society and Reach to Recovery, and are available at all Sandals and Beaches gift shops, at the JCS headquarters, and at all Super Plus Food stores.

So go out, support the cause, and get involved. Remember breast cancer affects not just women but families and communities, and every ounce of support - moral and financial - is needed to fight this disease!
