Many women would have made the resolution this year to settle down and become one with some lucky fellow. Then comes the issue of sharing life secrets, something that many experts recommend so you enter the new relationship with slates clean.
When it comes to sharing things with the man you hope to settle down with there is some information you MUST divulge - like whether you have a heriditary disease or whether you can't have children. However there are some secrets that you should recognise as single-sex only. Those are, secrets that you should only share with your girlfriends or better yet, take with you to your grave. Here are some:
1. Never confess to past infidelities with another partner, no matter what the cause. No man wants to know that you cheated on someone else, he'll think you'll do the same with him.
2. Don't say he's not as virile as he used to be, or that you have problems with things he can't change about himself - for example if you secretly wish he was taller or handsomer or had a better package. He can't do anything about it and telling him will only make him insecure.
3. Don't confess to any crushes you may have on any of his friends or family members.
4. Don't tell him that you compare him to your ex in bed, or anywhere else for that matter.
5. Don't tell him that you've done shameful things in the past - like gone topless at a club in Miami or had a one night stand at a bar. He'll never respect you afterwards. That's your secret to keep.
6. Don't tell him you've had an abortion. This secret should be between you, God and the doctor.
7. Don't tell him that you contracted a STI that has been cured. On the other hand, you NEED to tell him about STDs you have that can't be cured.
8. Don't tell him how many sexual partners you had in the past if it's a number you're ashamed of. This information is yours to do with as you please, actually.
9. Don't tell him that you cheated while he was away. It doesn't help him to know.
10. Don't tell him that you nearly committed suicide because of a relationship gone sour, depression or lack of self-esteem -especially if you have been through therapy. No one really wants to deal with someone they consider a nutcase!
