BELL Caribbean, a telecommunications products distribution company, has introduced in the Jamaican market, an international calling card which can also be used in the USA to call anywhere in the world.
The card, which Bell says is available in Jamaica via "an intricate dealer and sub-dealer network" is one of several telecommunications products that the company began to offer recently on the local market. They include an industrial strength long distance cordless phone called the Engenius; and a card that restricts the use of a landline to make long distance calls.
According to Steve Figel, the executive chairman of the company, his company's ownership in 17-year old Canadian telecoms firm, gives it access to cutting edge products that can benefit the Jamaican consumers.
"That link with a much more mature telecommunications market allows us to have a fair idea of where Jamaica is headed," noted Figel in a press statement. His company, he said, was therefore in a position "to determine the telecom products and services from which residential and business customers are most likely to benefit."
The Bell Caribbean card brings to five, the number of calling card providers on the local market. The others are Cable and Wireless with its World Talk; Irie Vibes, Big Talk and Nuff Chat.
