Rewarding talk

Sunday, June 05, 2005

Digicel has introduced a points system that rewards customers for talk. Digicel Points, which took effect Wednesday, is part of the company's strategy to build brand loyalty.

Customers automatically start to accumulate loyalty points that can be redeemed as discounts on state-of-the-art mobile phone purchases.

The redemption aspect begins in October.
The customer simply takes the old phone in for an upgrade, and pay the cost less the value of the accumulated points.

"Points do not expire and customers can purchase additional points as they please," said Harry Smith, commercial director for Digicel Jamaica, in a company release.

Both pre- and post-paid customers are eligible. The latter will accumulate points based on their monthly calls, and the points will be reflected on their bills.

Prepaid customers get one point per $100 of credit, and there is no limit on the points that can be accumulated.
