Walkman phone now available in Jamaica
Observer Reporter
Sunday, August 14, 2005

Sony Ericsson's Walkman branded mobile phone, the W800, is now available locally exclusively from Digicel.

The W800 combines a mobile phone, a Walkman-quality digital music player with up to 30 hours' battery life, and a 2 Megapixel camera, and is compatible with industry standard MP3 and AAC music file formats.

It can store up to 150 music tracks, or 10-12 full-length CDs, and allows for the transfer of music via Disk2Phone software, which is supplied.

The software makes it easy to browse, sort, find, transfer and delete music files.

The stereo headphones supplied allow for the ring on an incoming call to register while the user is listening to music.
" If the user chooses to take the call, the music is paused for the call's duration," said a Sony Ericsson release.

"The music player is operated with just one Walkman-branded button that plays, pauses and stops tracks, and player and phone can be used independently of each other."
