Style week Jamaica set to explode in Kingston this weekend

The Saint International-produced Style Week Jamaica unfolds on the weekend with a host
of international designers, supermodels, stylists and media, descending on the capital city, the oganisers stated in a release.

The first-time appearance of French high fashion - called haute couture - has certainly enhanced the profile of the event. French couturier Eymeric Francois will be unveiling his globally acclaimed couture pieces on the Style Week runway on Saturday night at the International Mecca Of Style. This event will be staged at the legendary Fort Charles in Port Royal.
"This is the first time in the history of fashion presentations that you have actual couture pieces coming to Jamaica or the Caribbean. This will heighten the prestige of the event and Kingston as a Style destination," said Saint CEO Deiwght Peters.
Sunday, May 31 will be the unfolding of Fashionblock - one of the Caribbean's biggest fashion events - on the streets of New Kingston. The longest runway in the region, with an eclectic mix of music, glamour and fashion fans is bound to make this years staging another historic fashion moment.
"International buyers from Paris are already in the island and this speaks to how serious the platform of Style Week is for our fashion designers," states Peters.
"We are clear about the primary objectives of Style Week, to expose Jamaican designers to the world and to create a sustainable platform for global relevance,"
Peters added.
Jamaica's hottest design stars will be rocking the runway, including SIIM, Yola Gray, Gillespie Fashions, Les Campbell, Pablo Palair, White Skyy, REV, Balla Shawn, Tony Crash among many others will be unveiling their Spring 2010 collections.
Among the international collections on show are Skingraft from Los Angeles, Martial Tapolo from Paris, Samantha Black (New York), Nzinga (New York), Tamika Brown (St Vincent)
The show will be styled by Jamaican-born, international Vogue Stylist Anatolli Smith and footwear will be provided by Michael Antonio Footwear from Los Angeles.
