Title: The Hit List
Artistes: Various
Label: Tads Records
Executive Producer: Tad A Dawkins

This up-to-the-minute compilation is yet another in the series of dancehall-driven compilations being released from Tads Records, the label which has been flexing its musical muscles and building up quite an interesting catalogue.

As the name implies, The Hit List is an assortment of singles which have enjoyed immense popularity in the dancehall, some of which, quite predictably, have proven to have a longer shelf life than others. A 22-track serving, this CD features a mix of acknowledged heavyweights, rising stars and dominant youngblood artistes to whom veterans such as Beenie and Bounty - who are also featured on the CD - must pass the baton.

Among the artistes who have been chosen to represent are Laden, Bugle, DeMarco, Charly Black, RDX, Konshens, Serani, Hezron, Cameal Davis, Vybz Kartel and the other two females on the roster, Spice and Ms Triniti, both of whom appear on collaborations.

Beenie Man makes the Hit List with Ms Triniti, with whom he did the number one single, It's Burnin, while Bounty makes the grade with the song They Don't Know Bawlin, the kind of social commentary which the Killer excels at. Then there's an unusual sounding trio, but on closer examination it makes sense for Gyptian, Suga Roy and Conrad Crystal to take a go at the Joseph 'Culture' Hill classic Jah Jah See Dem A Come.

Singers Stevie Face and Terry Linen lead off the compilation with I Wanna Wake Up With You and At Least/Back to Atlanta, respectively, while upcoming act Hezron makes his debut with So In Love. And yes, there is Serani, who is also a singer and he makes his contribution with Work Is Done. Representing Judgement Yard is none other than Miguel Collins, better known as Sizzla. The closing note on the compilation, Sizzla comes at listeners with the song entitled Question.

Among the singles on this Hit List are Time To Shine, Rich This Year, So In Love, This Means Money, Bubble, Standing Soldiers, Daggera, Last Man Standing, Rompin Shop, Really Like You, and Ben Ova.

The Hit List is the natural follow-up to last year's Ultimate Reggae/Dancehall Experience 2008, a compilation which captured the Excellence in Music and Enterainment Awards last year in the category Best Compilation CD. Can Tads Records do a double?
