New Sushi Spot In Town

Thursday, May 01, 2008

Just when the sullen faces of Restaurant Japan lovers started to become more melancholy over the temporary closing of the much-loved eatery, the restaurant's management decided to strike back with a fresh new idea - Katana Express at Kingston's Loshusan Supermarket. The 25-seater restaurant opened its doors just last week and is already dishing up offerings of all the favourite rolls from its sister franchise. Chef Michicko Asonuma and her husband Kaz are not alone in this new venture and have enlisted two private investors - Julie-Ann Jones Griffith and someone who is more of a household name, dancehall artiste Rodney Pryce aka Bounty Killer. That's right, you read correctly, Bounty loves sushi!

What's great about this new restaurant is that the prices are affordable and delivery starts in just 10 days! Additionally, there is wireless Internet access for those looking for another spot to work and those without a laptop will not be left out, as management will be installing computer terminals for those wishing to get lost in cyberspace, while chowing down on a roll of choice.

"We promise the Katana Express experience will entail less waiting time," says part-owner Kaz Asonuma.

No word yet on when the renovations at Restaurant Japan will be completed, but Foodie News did manage to get this one piece of information- the name Restaurant Japan will be laid to rest and the second floor New Kingston sushi spot will reopen under the name Katana.

For more information call Katana Express at 876 331-9060..
