Thursday, June 11, 2009

Make it a healthy choice this Friday at Deli Works.
The eatery, located at Sovereign Centre and nominated for Best Lunch Spot at the just-capped Jamaica Observer Food Awards, is set to introduce two healthy options - Grilled Filet of Chicken and Grilled Filet of Snapper. Both meals will be served with a medley of crisp vegetables.

Owner of Deli Works Michael Hall (second right) and his team (from left) Cleon Williamson, Chef Richard Hall, Jacqueline Johnson and Curtis McKenzie, pose for a photo before the start of the festivities at the Jamaica Observer Food Awards 2009. The company transported patrons to Italy with their offerings which included polenta with marinara sauce and filet of snapper with Italian escoveitch.

"These two dishes will be among the nine or so choices we already have," says Michael Hall, Deli Works director who adds that these options are especially for those health-conscious consumers.

"It's a conscious effort on our part to provide healthier options and more light fare that are better suited for summer," Hall notes.

The cost of the Filet of Chicken will be J$700, while the fish filet will go
for $850.

Deli Works lunchtime fare also includes traditional Jamaican meals, Italian cuisine, a variety of fresh salads and soups.
