Uncork With Karen MacNeil

Celebrated wine educator Karen MacNeil will be conducting two seminars in Jamaica between Wednesday, June 17 and Sunday, June 21.

Sponsored by Scotia Private Client Group in association with Platinum Concepts, the seminars dubbed 'Mastering Wine' will be staged at the Hilton Kingston Hotel. The cost of the seminars slated for June 18 and 19 is J$12,000 (inclusive of a copy of MacNeil's award-winning best-seller The Wine Bible) and $10,000 (without book).
MacNeil, for over 30 years has been a writer, consultant and educator whose articles on wine and food have been published in more than 50 United States magazines and newspapers including The New York Times, Food & Wine, Saveur and Town & Country. She is also the author of a second book Wine, Food & Friends, which was released in 2006. MacNeil is an Emmy Award winner, having been the host of a 13-part PBS series Wine: Food & Friends With Karen MacNeil. The programme is credited as America's first television series on wine.
MacNeil was recognised as the 'Outstanding Wine & Spirits Professional' in 2004 by the prestigious James Beard Foundation. The following year, she was named 2005 Wine Educator of the Year by the European Wine Council. Time Magazine profiled the wine expert in 2004 naming her America's "Missionary of the Vine".
Alongside conducting Wine Seminars worldwide for individuals and corporations, MacNeil is the Creator and Chairman of the Rhudd Centre for Professional Wine Studies at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in the Napa Valley, California. This multi-million dollar wine centre has been called the "Harvard of Wine Education".
