Have our men gone Girly?
Melbourne & Melrick Stewart, Observer TeenAge writers
Tuesday, August 16, 2005

The latest fashion craze among some men today seems to be pink outfits and boot-cut pants. They seem to have taken this fashion trend from the ladies and made it their own.

It's like if you don't own a pink outfit or a pair of boot-cut pants you're not saying a thing.

So what about men being associated with the colour blue and girls with pink and to some extent, yellow? We just can't see the point of two grown men arguing over whose pink outfit looks better. That's just being totally ridiculous!

It seems that the 'macho' men of Jamaica have gone 'girly'. What happened to the days when you could walk past a man and hear him singing that tried and true refrain, 'Macho, macho, macho man, I'm gonna be a macho man'.

Maybe it's the high prices of men's clothing or the shortage of the variety of styles for men that have our men turning to women's fashions.

Some men have even admitted to altering their jeans to fit tighter around their shins and ankles. Maybe they're jealous of all the attention that women receive? Who knows, perhaps God forbid, they even want to outshine the fairer sex?

But, the fact still remains: men, it's time to get a grip on reality and stop being so jealous of women. If you want attention, why not make or design a new style that if successful, might be a big hit. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
